When The Mandalorian came out in 2019, Star Wars fans everywhere were eager to see if it would live up to arguably one of the greatest series in all time.
As the first live-action series in the Star Wars franchise, it came highly anticipated and it did not disappoint.
One of the greatest and most iconic parts of the show is the theme song. The Mandalorian theme song was composed in 2019 by Swedish composer Ludwig Göransson. Göransson is best known for his work on the theme song, along with Tenet (2020) and Black Panther (2018).
One of the most surprising things about the song is that it starts off with the sound from a child’s instrument, a recorder! They use the recorder to lead the way into such a robust song, it’s truly a work of art.
Now, to celebrate Star Wars day (May fourth), the U.S. Army Band “Perishing’s Own,” decided to take on the theme song and play a beautiful orchestral cover.
They said, “May the ‘fourth’ be with you! Kick off Star Wars Day by listening to The United States Army Band ‘Pershing’s Own’ performing The Mandalorian Theme. This is the way.”
Listen to their incredible rendition of the song below:
